The July Update

WrestleVerse 26.7 is now live on the App Store for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and the Play Store for Android! This marks the first time that updates for the Android version of the game are in sync with Apple platforms. Along with that, our focuses this month were to fix as many bugs as possible, deliver quality-of-life improvements, polish every possible surface, and massively improve performance.

The Fastest Modern Wrestling Simulation

WrestleVerse is already an extremely performance efficient game. Advancing to the next day in the game, even on an older device like the iPhone 11, only takes a couple of seconds. Compared to other wrestling management simulation games, this simple operation can sometimes take over a minute, even on high-end desktop computers.

However, we can always do better. In an era where the AI bubble is driving hardware prices out of reach for many of us, it’s even more important than ever to deliver the best-performing software. It was a no-brainer for us to double down on our commitment to performance, so we got to work.

After all was said and done, we ran benchmarks on an iPhone 11 with a save file using one of the largest scenarios in the game after 2 in-game years, and measured the following speed improvements:

  • Loading the Roster screen is up to 3x faster
  • Advancing a single day is up to 4x faster
  • Advancing to the next month is up to 10x faster

The fastest modern wrestling simulation game just got even faster.

Quality-of-Life

In addition, we’ve made a number quality of life improvements and polishes around the game:

  • Added a search field on the Contracts screen
  • Added the ability to disable Default Scenario promotions when using a Custom Scenario
  • Added a ‘Wrestling Style’ grouping option to the Roster
  • Added a Match Format label for more clarity
  • Added a ‘tense heartbeat’ haptic effect during contract negotiations
  • Adjusted the UI in various places to reduce the number of taps required
  • Increased the max show runtime from 240 minutes to 480 minutes
  • The single segment Auto Booker has been split into Matches and Angles

Mountains of Bug Fixes

This update also includes the most bug fixes we’ve ever shipped in a single update:

  • Drag and drop to re-order segments is less finicky to activate
  • The single segment Auto Booker fails less often under tight show runtimes
  • The Auto Booker now books title matches for vacant titles
  • The Scenario Creator now saves starting champions for non-singles titles
  • The Scenario Creator now limits starting champion and stable member options to wrestlers from the relevant promotion
  • The Commentary Engine now accounts for the environment set in an Angle Script
  • Newly created championships now register the 1st reign properly
  • Added a starting balance to new save files to improve the balancing of Finances
  • Scripts now progress rivalries in the same way that Spots do
  • Vacant titles can no longer be booked multiples times on a single card
  • Improved VoiceOver support in various places
  • Adjusted the ‘selected’ pink colour for better contrast & legibility
  • Wrestlers can no longer be edited from read-only contexts such as booking pickers, negotiations, inbox items, and incidents
  • Balanced the distribution of Wrestling Styles
